The best Jewish podcasts on YouTube, and a clean way to watch them
A guide to popular frum Jewish podcasts on YouTube — interviews, parnassah, Jewish history, parenting and Yiddish talk shows — and how to watch them without the rest of YouTube.
Jewish podcasts have exploded. What started as audio shows are now full video productions on YouTube, with hundreds of episodes each and some of the biggest audiences in the frum world. If you search for the best Jewish podcasts, you will find long lists — but most mix very different kinds of shows, and watching them on YouTube means everything else on YouTube comes along.
Here is a practical guide to the main kinds of frum podcasts, some of the best-known shows in each, and how to watch them in a clean setting.
Interview podcasts
The biggest category. A host sits down with a guest — a Rosh Yeshiva, a businessman, a singer, a baal teshuva, someone who went through something remarkable — for an hour or more.
- Meaningful People with Nachi Gordon. Long-form conversations with people from across the Jewish world, and one of the most watched Jewish podcasts on YouTube.
- Inspiration for the Nation with Yaakov Langer, from Living Lchaim. Guests have included Reb Eli Stefansky, Avraham Fried, Motty Steinmetz, Abie Rotenberg, Rabbi YY Jacobson and Rabbi Manis Friedman.
- Let's Talk Tachlis, conversations on practical topics in frum life.
Parnassah and money
Business and money are a natural fit for long conversations, and frum listeners want advice that fits their lives.
- Kosher Money with Eli Langer, also from Living Lchaim: interviews with business owners and investors about building a parnassah, saving, and running a business.
- Git Gelt Podcast with Chaim Ekstein: business and parnassah conversations.
Jewish history and stories
- Jewish History Soundbites with Yehuda Geberer: clear, well-researched episodes on Jewish history, Gedolim and communities.
- Among Chassidim, from Derher: stories about chassidim and the world they lived in.
- The Spirit of the Song, from Living Lchaim: the stories behind well-known Jewish songs.
Chinuch and parenting
- TWiSTED Parenting with Avi Fishoff: a huge library of episodes on raising children and teenagers, aimed at parents who are struggling.
- Rabbi Dovid Orlofsky: hundreds of talks on chinuch, marriage, hashkafa and life, with his well-known humour.
Torah and inspiration
- Chazaq: Torah classes and inspiration from a wide range of speakers.
Yiddish podcasts
A fast-growing category of its own: Teef Teef, ShmueliCast with Shmueli Ungar, Pushet Pshat from London, #WhatAPod, Latest Talks and Reb Yoely Lebovits.
Music podcasts
- Backstage with Benny, with Benny Friedman, about the music and the people behind it.
The problem with watching podcasts on YouTube
A podcast episode is long. That is a lot of time with YouTube's sidebar, end screens, comments and ads around you. And not every episode of every show fits every home: even a good channel may have an episode with a guest or topic your family would rather skip.
How Kall Video handles podcasts
Kall Video has a Podcasts section with the shows above, and it does two things YouTube cannot:
- Nothing around the episode. No comments, no outside recommendations, no links out — just the episode.
- Curated episode lists. For several of the biggest shows — Meaningful People, Inspiration for the Nation, Kosher Money and The Spirit of the Song — Kall does not take the whole channel. Every episode was reviewed by title and thumbnail, and only those that fit Kall's standards were added: male speakers only, and no news, politics, war or similar topics. So Meaningful People on Kall has 123 of its episodes, not all of them, and the same approach applies to the others.
That means you can open a show and pick an episode without scrolling past things you did not want to see.
How to start
- Open video.kallin1.com and tap Podcasts.
- Pick a show. Each show page lists its episodes, newest first.
- Add Kall Video to your home screen for one-tap access — it works like an app, with nothing to install.
A word on choosing
These are popular shows, but popular is not the same as right for every listener. Guests say things hosts do not always agree with, and families differ. Use the curated lists as a starting point, and use your own judgment and your Rav's guidance for what you and your children listen to.
